ROI, Return On Investment, is een term uit de financiële wereld waarin toekomstige waarde van een investering teruggerekend wordt naar het heden. Een toelichting: nu € 100 betalen om iets voor elkaar te krijgen is alleen verantwoord als je na verloop van tijd dit bedrag plus rente en inflatie weer terug krijgt. Als je in plaats van geld rekent met opleidingsuren klopt het als een bus.
Investeren in mensen zodat zij veiliger, effectiever, efficiënter en succesvoller worden – in hun flow, is een rendement wat niet alleen in geld, maar ook in geluk is uit te drukken. Maar dan moeten die opleidingen wel met dat doel voor ogen gegeven worden.
