Verdiep je in literatuur Als leesconsulent moet je op de hoogte zijn van de geschiedenis van volwassenen- en kinderliteratuur. Hierdoor kun je lezers beter adviseren en hen helpen bij het vinden van boeken die aansluiten bij hun leesniveau en interesses. Verken de wereld van leespromotie Maak kennis met de voornaamste leespromotie-activiteiten in Nederland. Word bekend met de grootste boekevenementen en voor welke doelgroepen deze zijn bedoeld. Denk bijvoorbeeld aan de Boekenweek, de Kinderboekenweek en de Nationale Voorleesdagen. Geef vorm aan leesbeleid op school Leer hoe je als leesconsulent kunt bijdragen aan een gedegen leesbeleid op scholen en hiermee de leesvaardigheid en het leesplezier van leerlingen kunt bevorderen. Ook ervaar je waarom een goed leesbeleid van wezenlijk belang is voor de schoolinspectie.
