Why an Emergency Response Officer Refresher Course? Repeating the Emergency Response knowledge and skills is a must for every Emergency Response Officer. Companies, schools, and institutions are regularly confronted with calamities, accidents, or fire. Quick and accurate intervention is then required and can even save lives. As an emergency response officer, you are able to provide immediate assistance. An ERO refresher ensures that you remain trained and act according to the latest guidelines and insights. Who is the Emergency Response Officer Refresher Course intended for? The Emergency Response Officer (ERO) Refresher Course repetition is intended for participants who are in possession of a valid ERO certificate. Why take an Emergency Response Officer Refresher Course? With an ERO refresher course, you keep your knowledge up-to-date and your ERO certificate remains valid. The Emergency Response certificate is valid for 1 year. Do you want to keep your ERO certificate valid? Then you must follow the annual emergency response training. Every company, institution, or school must arrange in-house emergency response and provide one or more trained emergency response officers. A good emergency response organization prevents/limits damage and/or injury in the workplace in the event of incidents. Safety comes first, but it doesn't stop with the starter course. First responders must remain demonstrably competent and trained. Contents of the ERO Refresher Course The emergency response course (ERO) follows the guidelines and attainment targets of the Netherlands Institute for In-house Emergency Response (NIBHV). The training lasts 1 day or 2 half-days, offering a lot of variation in theory and practical subjects. The ERO refresher consists of the following 4 modules: Non-Emergency First Aid
Cuts, burns, eye injuries, bruises, sprains, fractures.

Emergency First Aid
Choking, resuscitation, use of AED, first aid for diseases (epilepsy, stroke, heart attack, diabetes, shock).

Firefighting
Extinguishing a starting fire, fire triangle, fire classes, fire hose reel, spray foam extinguisher, CO2 extinguisher, powder extinguisher, fire blanket.

Evacuation
Communication, alarm, door procedure, and evacuation. Lesson day We expect you to arrive at the location provided at least 15 minutes before the start of training.
The participant must be able to identify himself / herself during the entire course. Clothing advice Comfortable clothing and closed shoes for practical assignments are advised.
If it is necessary to wear safety shoes in the workplace, this is also mandatory for in-company training. Lunch and refreshments Lunch and refreshments are included in the course price if the training takes place a whole day at the Preventief BV ERO Training Centre. When the training takes place in-company, this depends on the agreements within your organization.   Change / cancellation In case of changes or cancellations regardless of the reason, the following costs will be charged; Condition Payment Due Cancel open registration > 14 days* 0% Cancel open registration 8-14 days* 25% Cancel open registration 1-7 days* 50% Absent without cancellation or on the day of lesson 100% * If paid, the costs for the textbook or e-learning will be charged. For in-company training other cancellation conditions may apply, such as a minimum number of participants or group price. It is always possible to send a colleague in your place. In this case, no costs will be charged. Always discuss a change or cancellation with the contact person / manager of your organization and follow the company-specific agreements.
