This online training will help you recognise cultural communication styles and adapt your own communication accordingly. For anyone who wants to collaborate more effectively in an international environment.

Description
In this online training course, you will delve into developing skills to better read and understand people from different cultural backgrounds. By improving your cultural competence, you will create a mindset in which differences between cultures no longer hinder you. You will learn to master and apply various communication styles.

Brief content & learning objectives:

This training is interactive and practically oriented. We encourage you to apply learning points you encounter in the online training directly into the workplace as well as to coming up with your own cases.

Practical information:

• Group training: 4 - 8 participants
• Online
• Study load 11.5 hours: 5.5 hours with trainer in the virtual classroom and 6 hours of online learning (1.5-2 hours per week).
• This training is in English.

Participants profile
For this training, participants need to be academically minded (≥ HBO) and have an intermediate language level of English (≥B1).

Learning goals
In this course, you will learn to recognise and understand different communication styles, including your own. You will then develop skills to adapt your approach, without losing your authenticity. You will also create a basis for presenting yourself in a way that suits the environment and international context. This will help you build better relationships with your colleagues.

Method
This course combines three forms of learning. In this way, you are challenged and encouraged to learn in as manu different ways as possible.

• Lessons with a trainer: you follow the lessons in a group with other students. The lessons take place via the virtual classroom.
• E-learning: varied assignments on our online platform, at your own pace.
• Social learning: learning from and with others, just like in real life. You do this with a buddy and you are guided by a mentor.

What is Social Learning?
With our unique Social Learning approach, in addition to several sessions with the trainer, you will work on giving and receiving feedback. In addition, you will make and discuss
assignments with a buddy, one of your fellow students. This way of learning has been shown to help you master what you learn better and faster. The benefits?

• Becoming aware of the effect of your behaviour and what you can do differently;
• Varied forms of training: e-learning, buddy assignments, online feedback and guidance and group lessons;

Workload indication: 1.5 to 2 hours per week.
- 1 hour kick-off session
- 3 x 1,5 hours virtual session with group and trainer
- 6 hours of online training: e-learning + social learning (sessions with your buddy)
