The ATEX for Technicians course is designed for anyone involved in installing, repairing, maintaining, testing, and inspecting (complex) electrical installations in hazardous (explosive) environments.

Prerequisites

To successfully follow this course, you should have an electrical engineering education at EQF level 2 or equivalent.

The ATEX for Technicians course lasts five days and is highly practical, delivered by experienced instructors working in the industry.During the course, you will learn about:- ATEX 114 and 153 legislation- Properties of flammable gases and substances- Principles and operation of protection methods for electrical and mechanical equipment- Responsibilities regarding work permits, safety procedures and measures, and gas detection usage- Safe working practices in hazardous (explosive) areas (work permits, gas detection, tools, etc.)- Equipment and wiring system installation and maintenance requirements- Installing equipment and wiring systems- Testing electrical installations in explosive environments- Conducting visual, accurate, and detailed inspections- Documentation requirementsRead more on the website of ROVC.The course concludes with an examination administered by PBNA.
