Opleiding: Conflict Management & Mediation

A one-day training for anyone who wants to deal with conflicts more effectively, learning how to use your personal conflict style, recognize pitfalls, and guide conversations toward sustainable solutions—without getting caught up in the conflict yourself.

This training is designed for anyone who regularly encounters conflicts, whether you are a manager, scrum master, team leader, or team member. Conflicts, discussions, disagreements, or opposing interests occur in every organization, both directly and indirectly. It can sometimes be challenging to understand your own position in a conflict or how you can contribute to a solution without getting entangled in it. In this intensive one-day training, you will learn how to handle conflicts effectively. You will develop skills to recognize early signs of conflict (prevention), manage common pitfalls (during conflict), and work toward sustainable solutions (resolution and follow-up).

Facilitating Conflict
How do you deal with a conflict? How do you reach a solution that satisfies everyone involved? Learn how to facilitate a conflict conversation without being drawn into the conflict yourself.

Dealing with Pitfalls
Conflicts are often complex and emotionally charged, as positions and emotions tend to be intertwined. When these are not clearly separated, many pitfalls arise in handling conflict. Without this awareness, it’s easy to become entangled in the conflict—something you want to avoid. The challenge lies in jointly guiding the involved parties toward a mutually satisfying resolution in which all feel heard and understood.

Regarding Conflict Management
After completing this training, you will be able to:

  • Recognize different conflict styles
  • Structure and manage conflict conversations without losing neutrality
  • Handle resistance and emotions that come with conflict
  • Distinguish between the content and the emotions of a conflict
  • Conclude conversations with clear agreements or solutions
  • Identify the roles of the three parties involved and choose the appropriate role for yourself

Regarding Pitfalls
After completing this training, you will be able to:

  • Identify common pitfalls that occur during conflict conversations
  • Recognize and handle challenging reactions such as vague information, digressions, emotions, personal attacks, criticism, and emotional manipulation
