The USM Professional training course can be taken online or in class.

Classroom training takes place in Utrecht, The Hague, Amersfoort, Amsterdam or Eindhoven. In-company training or customisation is also possible. The USM Professional training can be used for professionals in all facilities task areas (from IT to building management, from human resources to security and cleaning), and is equally applicable to service organisations from the ‘primary’ domain, i.e. municipalities, telcos, healthcare institutions, etc.

To join the USM Professional training course, you must have sufficient basic knowledge of USM. You can obtain this by attending a USM Foundation training course.

The USM Professional training prepares you for the position of Service Management Architect.

Description USM Professional English
Anyone wishing to provide services as a USM professional (coach, trainer, product expert, or toolauditor) can participate in the USM Professional training. This training is ideally suited for professionals in sectors with high demands on service quality. This is not (anymore) just IT, where people have long been accustomed to structure, quality agreements and tooling for controlling processes. Control is central in many fields because of the high degree of dependence on the facilities provided.

Professionals working for service organisations that want to get their performance right can use USM, the Universal Service Management method. The USM Professional training covers the management system of service providers. With USM, the participant learns to make practical choices for managing service organisations. These choices are well-founded and easy to understand because they are based on a powerful service management architecture. This provides insight and peace of mind into the organisation, the governance, and the way of working. This, in turn, is a precondition for structural improvement of the organisation’s performance.

Content Training USM Professional English
The USM Professional training emphasises the process-oriented design of the service organisation and its working method. After all, processes are the shortest and most efficient route to the customer-relevant goal. The term ‘process’ is one of the most misused terms in the management domain: in most organisations ‘process’ actually refers to the practices of the organisation. USM, in contrast, uses 5 pure processes to compile all eight workflows of a service organisation. With this clear and simple starting point, any service provider can quickly get in control of their work and set up tools effectively. That then opens the door to service excellence and innovation.

The USM Professional track consists of four steps:

– A pre-course assignment in which you analyse your own organisation or that of a client.
– The three-day USM Professional training, full of exercises and discussions.
– The concluding assessment, in which you demonstrate that you can explain USM convincingly.

Before attending the USM professional training you must have followed the USM Foundation training.

Exam USM Professional English
USM Professionals need a minimum score of 30 out of 40 for the USM exam that accompanies the USM Foundation training. If you have not achieved this score, you can still participate in the training, but you will only become a certified USM Professional coach if you meet the minimum score through a (re)exam. In addition, participants are given a pre-course assignment in which you analyse your own organisation or that of a client and a final assessment, in which you demonstrate that you can explain USM convincingly. The cost of the assessment is included in the training.

Those who have taken the USM Professional track and passed the increased exam score automatically become a certified USM coach. If you want to advance to the role of USM trainer, USM product expert, or USM tool auditor, you will complete additional self-study, which in turn concludes with an assessment for that additional role.

All USM professionals are provided by SURVUZ Foundation with a comprehensive USM toolkit that they can use when coaching USM user organisations. That toolkit contains numerous templates, tools and other resources specifically aimed at structured coaching of the USM application.

Practical information
The Universal Service Management professional training is offered to you by the IT Management Group as an accredited USM training partner. The USM Professional training course lasts 3 days. The cost for the USM training course are €2425. This price includes course material, assessment, coffee, tea and lunch and excludes VAT. The training is based on digital training materials.
