Opleiding: Combined FOET with CA-EBS & EBS (NOGEPA 0.5B /OPITO 5850 + 5858)
Target group:
This OPITO-approved FOET programme, with NOGEPA approval and Norwegian Oil & Gas acceptance, is intended for personnel who regularly travel to and work on offshore installations and require refresher training in offshore safety and emergency response. The course includes both Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) (OPITO 5850) training and Emergency Breathing System (EBS - CAT B) (5858) training, ensuring compliance with the latest offshore safety requirements for the Dutch, UK and Norwegian sectors. As the use of an Emergency Breathing System (EBS) is mandatory for personnel working in Norway and Norwegian waters, this combined programme fully meets current Norwegian Oil & Gas requirements.
Prerequisites:
Before attending the course, delegates must: • Be in possession of a valid ID (passport or driver's licence). • Hold a valid OPITO BOSIET, FOET, T-BOSIET or T-FOET certificate, or a valid NOGEPA 0.5A or 0.5B certificate. • Hold a valid offshore medical certificate, or an employer-approved equivalent, confirming fitness for offshore work and in-water CA-EBS training. • Have completed a lung function (spirometry) test where required. If not available, this test can be carried out at the training centre before the course. • Be physically and mentally capable of participating in all practical exercises, including physically demanding and potentially stressful training activities. Medical certificates should be submitted to customer service prior to the training date.
Objective:
The FOET programme is designed to refresh and update the offshore safety and emergency response skills required by personnel working in the offshore oil and gas industry. The course provides delegates with the opportunity to practise and demonstrate emergency response skills that cannot normally be exercised during routine offshore drills. Upon successful completion, delegates will be able to: • Demonstrate the correct procedures for helicopter emergencies, including underwater escape. • Safely deploy and use both the Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) and the Emergency Breathing System (EBS - CAT B). • Demonstrate effective self-rescue techniques in smoke-filled and low-visibility environments. • Operate portable fire extinguishers safely and effectively. • Perform basic emergency first aid. • Refresh offshore emergency response skills in accordance with current OPITO, NOGEPA and Norwegian Oil & Gas requirements. The programme also includes Norwegian Oil & Gas escape chute (Skyscape) techniques where applicable.
