OVERVIEW
This four-day course about Universal Discovery (UD) explains how to discover IT infrastructure using UD jobs or integrations. You will use the new Web UI for this course, with some exceptions, such as the Scanner Generator wizard.
You will learn how to install and set up the Data Flow Probe, configure Jobs, install UD Agents, understand Discovery mechanisms, agent-based and agent-less discovery options, Application Recognition, Application Dependency Mapping Discovery, review the Collected Data, and configure Integrations.
The Discovery jobs can start with simple inventory discovery for data center and client environments and move to discovering cloud environments.
You will also explore UD in SaaS environments. Discovery can collect detailed information using these jobs, such as ports on a server to IP service End Points for services, installed software, and so on. As part of dependency mapping, the services, running software, and related CIs will be collected and help in creating the queries and mapping application dependency.
As part of discovering the Inventories, the installed software discovery and hardware components of servers and devices will help with Asset Management tasks. For Cloud Discovery, you will review the possibilities of AWS, Azure, Google Discovery, and others will have hands-on discovery of Dockers.
