De Ethernet TCP/IP Basistraining leert technici de kern van moderne netwerken met veel praktijk: LAN, OSI, Ethernet, TCP/IP, subnetting en deviceconfiguratie, volledig op maat.
De Ethernet TCP/IP Basis opleiding is bedoeld voor technici zonder of met beperkte kennis van huidige netwerk omgevingen. Hier wordt begonnen met het begin. Na de introductie worden er een aantal belangrijke ICT begrippen uitgelegd gevolgd door verschillende UTP configuraties. Binair en Hexadecimale tallenstelsels worden uitgelegd, en hoe hiermee netwerkadressen worden gemaakt (MAC en IP).
Het OSI referentie model mag uiteraard ook niet ontbreken. De werking van Ethernet komt voorbij gevolgd door de introductie van de TCP-IP protocol suite. Verder worden de volgende protocollen behandeld: IP, TCP, UDP, ICMP en DHCP.
Er wordt uitgebreid ingegaan in de opbouw van IPv4 adressen, en de functie van het Subnetmasker wordt duidelijk uigelegd.
Het praktijk gedeelte bevat o.a. Configureren van routers en andere IP devices. De laatste praktijk oefening bestaat uit het aansluiten, configureren en testen van een kompleet netwerkje waarbij alle theorie in de praktijk wordt gebracht, inclusief APIPA en Port forwarding.
Tijdens de lessen wordt gebruik gemaakt van een zelf geschreven naslagwerk van 320 pagina’s full color.

Deze vervolgcursus verdiept netwerkinzicht met o.a. VLAN, VPN, IPv6, advanced subnetting, DNS, Wireshark en security, zodat deelnemers beter netwerken analyseren en problemen oplossen.
Waar de basistraining uitleg gaf over de verschillende UTP configuraties beginnen we in het vervolg bij de diverse Fiber Optic configuraties. Hierna een uitleg over de diverse Multiplex technieken zoals FDM, TDM en WDM.
Het OSI model vergeleken met het DOD referentie model mag uiteraard ook niet ontbreken. Naast het Ethernet V2 frame komen ook de IEEE802.3, RAW Ethernet en IEEE802.3_SNAP (Sub Network Access Protocol) voorbij. Verder worden de volgende protocollen behandeld: ARP, TCP Three way handshake en termination, FTP Active/Passive, ICMP, VPN, NAT, DHCP processen, DynamicDNS en OpenDNS.
CIDR en VLSM komen uitgebreid aan de orde, inclusief een aantal praktijk cases en praktijk oefeningen. Het hoofdstuk Wireless LAN laat de werking van de belangrijkste WLAN protocollen zien en hoe de meest voorkomende problemen hiermee opgelost kunnen worden.
Het praktijk gedeelte bevat o.a. Configureren van een managed switch met VLAN, LAG, STP (Link Aggregatie en Spanning Tree Protocol). Het opzetten van een FTP sessie en SSH sessie. Dit gedeelte bevat ook een aantal oefeningen met een Protocol Analyser (Wireshark).
